June jaunts to Anglesey Escapes holiday cottages

Posted in Latest from Anglesey Escapes, Things to do on Anglesey on

All of our Anglesey Escapes holiday cottages have been fully booked for this May half term week, just how we like it! Perhaps unsurprising really as, in addition to our conviction that Anglesey’s charms are more and more known about, we spotted not 1 but 2 references to Anglesey in last Saturday’s papers. The first newspaper article I saw on the BBC news was entitled: “41 Welsh beaches earn blue flag water quality awards” Anglesey’s has 6 Blue Flag beaches: Benllech, Church Bay, Llanddona, Porth Dafarch, Llanddwyn and Trearddur Bay, always good to know and definitely something to be shouted about! The second one we spotted was literally news to us in an article entitled: “The UK’s most charming seaside cafes and restaurants” featuring Anglesey with the fabulous sounding Bradley’s Deli. The Square, Benllech, Isle of Anglesey LL74 8TD

Thank you (once again) to Ysbyty Penrhos Stanley, Holyhead, Anglesey

I was chatting to my sister in law this weekend and told her about my most recent trip to A&E with my eldest son which reminded me I hadn’t blogged about it. I mean to post immediately after the concussion incident on 14th April 2015 but the shock took a bit of getting over. My sons were messing around sitting on the back of a sofa, they and the sofa tipped backwards so that both of their heads hit the wall. No 2 son was fine and jumped up but No 1 son was howling and continued to do so. After about half an hour he was still crying and despite administering some Neurofen, putting him to bed and generally getting increasingly cross with him, he wouldn’t stop. When he then complained he couldn’t see properly I drove straight to the minor injuries unit at Penrhos Stanley hospital. By now my son was extremely upset… More

Anglesey at Easter

Posted in Latest from Anglesey Escapes on

We’ve just had the most amazing week weather wise in Anglesey. Endless sun, no wind and proper warmth. Day after day. We are thrilled that the holiday cottage season got off to such a great start and are very glad that all the guests got to see Anglesey looking so beautiful. We’ve had a blissful week enjoying; BBQs on the beach, boating, ice creams, crabbing, coastal path walks, Easter egg hunts for 9 boys age 9 and under – it’s been dreamy! Now though it’s back to down to earth with a huge bump as we prepare for black bin day on Monday. Currently attempting to anchor down recycling boxes and dustbins in gale force winds and rain that has returned with a vengeance…..Wish me luck!

Why a stormy Anglesey holiday is good for the soul!

Posted in Latest from Anglesey Escapes on

As I write on the first day of Lent I am hopeful that my resolutions will last the duration. I plan to reduce my take up of the seven deadly sins in the hope that trying to be a nicer person for the next 39 days might help me stay that way beyond Lent AND I will be abstaining from personal Facebook usage too. I might just discover the two are connected! Contemplating half term holiday options; I am quelling my Envy of those enjoying the on and off piste joys of a skiing holiday or those fed up with the grey skies, coldness and never-ending ness of a British winter who have gone in search of the sun. Gluttony is dealt with as I nibble on Brazil nuts and sip hot water. I am trying to temper my Wrath in relation to my children. I am so over any visitors to our house sizing… More
